Stitcher
"I'm not a nice person. I'm a very, very bad person who's trying not to be."
Out Of Character Information
Stitcher has been an active pilot since November 2005. Initially created as an industrial character, I quickly found my way out into alliance space as part of JIT Enterprises. We were resident in territory owned by the "Forsaken Empire" alliance. It was during this time that I learned to PvP - after all, if you want to mine in peace, you need to have the firepower to defend your asteroid belts.
When JIT eventually joined the Freelancer Alliance (FLA) I was already an experienced combat veteran, and soon found my way into the upper ranks of the fleet, eventually becoming vice-admiral of the FLA military forces, alongside Coldkill. I enjoyed the position so much that, when JIT left the alliance, I transferred over to "Legion of Qui" corporation rather than go with them. Although FLA was never large enough to be militarily competitive with some of our enemies, we still managed to achieve a lot with what we had, earning the respect of our adversaries. FLA's moment of glory came when the Mercenary Coalition was contracted to take our home region of Deklein. While our "allies" crumbled and retreated, we doggedly held out, fighting so hard that the MC were forced to extend the deadline on their contract - something never done before or since.
Nevertheless, we lacked the numbers or resources to hold out forever, and were eventually allowed to leave the region with our honour intact. Over the next few months we engaged in PvP fighting all over the map, even joining the "Terra Incognita" alliance for a while, before leaving them due to differences in opinion, at which point I quit LoQ and joined a corporation being founded by some RL friends. It was during this time that I really got into the roleplaying scene in EVE, and when the "Empyrean Age" expansion came out, bringing factional warfare with it, I decided to try my hand at it. I joined Duty. and flew with them for several months, eventually leaving the corporation after it bowed out of factional warfare and returned to mercenary work. Nowadays, I'm retired from PvP and instead focus on tech 2 manufacturing and invention.

Stitcher is a physically older pilot, having served for twenty-three years in the Ishukone Watch. He enlisted at age 16 and spent twelve years as #35 "Tanto" squad's medic before retraining as a trauma surgeon at age 30. As a surgeon, he advanced to the rank of Major, and retired at age 39. He used his saved money and State pension to buy his entry into the School of Applied Knowledge's fast-track Capsuleer training, graduating with distinction at age 41.
Stitcher is a philosophically-inclined and deeply spiritual but slightly cynical man, possessed of a black sense of humour and an at-times malicious wit. He is not a quiet man - he is quite willing to speak his mind on any subject, if he believes that his opinion is informed and constructive.
He values intelligence and competence ahead of idealism, and has a strong sense of morality and responsibility. He is opposed to slavery, but refuses to support Minmatar anti-slavery movements on the grounds that he finds their philosophy too violent - he would rather that the Amarr reliance on slavery be ended slowly and peacefully, rather than quickly and violently.
His preferred pastime is debating, though he also enjoys sculpting and making trivial wagers. He is a big fan of both Splinterz and Mind Clash, and routinely treats his family and friends to VIP tickets to matches between the bigger Clashers and Splinterz teams.
