Summary

The issue is with the expiration of payments / plexes as it goes the moment a payment is refused and or a PLEX expires the player is simply disconected with no extra warnings regardless of what and where a player might be located at.

This can cause players great grief that could be avoided if CCP implemented something similar as exists already with shutdown warnings, a similar system for accounts about to expire or even a payment that failed to go through.

Solution

Implement for PLEX type of subscribers in game pop-ops for PLEX in need of beeing refreshed into new ones.

Warning messages can be configured in options.

Warnings set at different intervals.

Less than 24 hours

Less than 12 hours

Less than 6 hours

Less than 3 hours

Less than 1 hours

Less than 30 min

Less than 15 min

Less than 5 mins

Last 60 seconds (counted down)

For other method of payments that failed:

Payment expired, account beeing logged out in 60 minutes (counted down) similar as shutdown warning

Pros

Ability of players to be reminded to fix their payments before it becomes a potential problem.

Cons

None perceived with player feedback other than more popping messages, but can be chosen in options.
