Target painters are used when you're having trouble hitting an opponent either due to their size and/or their speed. It works by increasing the target's signature radius making it easier for turrets and missiles to hit.
Target Painters have a cumulative effect. If you put two target painters on you ship and activate them both at one target, the effect will stack, with a penalty to the second module similar to that of hardeners and other enhancing equipment.
Every Target Painter are Mid slot items.
