Summary

Despite the CSM bringing up the Black Ops class battleships in CSM1, and the subsequent buff by CCP, Black Ops battleships still remain unpopular. This is reflected by the fact that in the snapshot taken by QEN3, only 225 of them were in use.

Black Ops suffer from a number of problems. Their jump range is still too low to be useful. In addition, their survivability and fitting is often worse than their T1 counterparts, with these T2 ships having low resists and less hitpoints, and even less fitting capacity. Targeting range is also lower than T1.

In addition the bonuses of the ships are not desirable by players. The Sin and Panther also fail to claim a clear role.

Potential Solutions

  • Increase Jump Range
  • Boost Survivability (resists and HP)
  • Boost base stats
  • Re-evaluate bonuses
