The Sin Eater is an Amarrian torture device. It resembles a sarcophagus with two long needles attached to metal arms. When activated, the needles puncture the sarcophagus and the victim inside. The needles "purify" the person inside by "eating their sins", the exact mechanism of which is not explained but is presumably very painful and produces a foul smell. Some are attached to oxygen tubes to ensure that the victim does not suffocate before being purified. [1]
