Summary
Under current mechanics a player will recieve a GCC and security penalty if he/she provides remote assistance to a player with a security status of -5.0 or lower. This inhibits the abilities of gangs consisting soley of Outlaws or those composing of Outlaws/Non-Outlaws when engaging legitmate war targets or other Outlaws in Low Security Space.
Solution
Change the current mechanics so that a player will only recieve a GCC for repping someone else with a GCC. In the case of a non-outlaw assisting an Outlaw the parties aggressing the Outlaw will be able to return fire upon the player assisting the Outlaw.
However, a player providing remote assistance (reps, sensor boosting, remote eccm, remote tracking links, etc) to a player with GCC will still incur a GCC and security status hit upon himself.
Pros
- Gangs consisting of Outlaws or a mixture of Outlaws and Non-Outlaws (as is the case in some FW fleets) will be able to engage legitimate targets and fully take advantage of remote assistance without worrying about security hits or GCC.
Cons
- None apparant at this time, most pirate camps relying upon remote sensor boosted HICs/Recons will all incurr a GCC upon their first kill, so very little will change with regards to the 'gate camping' dynamic.
