This consolidation meant that some local [[Holder|Holders]] would lose big parts of their territory to other vassals. The Valerius Family was one of the unfortunates that saw their power and holdings greatly diminished. As Khanid II seceded from the Empire, an opportunity presented itself that was grasped with both hands.
