"So I'm hungry, I have pot noodle with no pot, but wait, I'm in the crypt right? Just as I'm scoffing the last few chemically altered wheat noodles in he walks, flanked by General Arkaiser and Commander Thrace. I have to say, while it was clearly a grave moment in New Eden history, the look on his face was great. He erupted into one of his great rants, I didn't even listen to the words, I knew by the look on the faces of Sarkus and Arkaiser there was no backing down now, we'd gone too far, just as I knew that Thrace would eventually side with us.

I walk straight past them and out, opening my communicator and signalling General Raivi, "The time has come, the revolution begins today. RED DESTINY!"..."

Red versus Blue (or RvB) is a straight-forward institution. There are two high-sec corporations, the Red Federation and the Blue Republic, with a permanent war declaration between them. Any player may join either side as they wish and indulge in target-rich PvP, the focus of which is on inexpensive frigate and cruiser combat. It really is that simple: Apply to one of the corps, the application will be accepted, jump in a ship, start PvPing.

Currently RvB is in it's second war, based in Onirvura Constellation in The Forge region.

Potted History

The First War: 2008

The project originally began in late 2007 with war starting in 2008 and was active for approximately 12 weeks. The project was organised and lead by Plave Okice.

The Second War: 2009 - Present

Planning for the return of RvB began approximately two years after the end of the first war going live of the 30th of September 2009, again under the guidance of Plave Okice. It was a blood bath. In the first month alone just under 7000 ships were destroyed with Blue and Red corps being 2 and 3 (behind GoonFleet) in the total kills for that period. Over time rules were formulated governing the use of ECM (to give better fights) and outlawing podding of RvB members (to protect the wallet, for particularly newer players) keeping the focus on high-octane PvP. Plave Okice left for another project a short time after the second war went live which preceded the passing of a number of CEOs for both corps over the coming year. At the end of the summer 2010 the command structure was overhaulled with Del DelVechio taking office as CEO of both corps. RvB has never looked back.

In the summer of 2012, having overseen RvB's member count increase by an order of magnitude, Del DelVechio stepped down from his role as CEO of the two corps handing responsibilities over to Delucian (Red Federation) and Tim "AFK" Pest (Blue Republic) - who has since been replaced by Fallentitan.

The region in which RvB operates periodically changes to keep things fresh and interesting. RvB combat can happen anywhere in EVE - excluding Jita - however 99% of all Red on Blue action happens in The Forge, particularly the systems of Josameto, Liekuri, Otela & Poinen. Feel free to base in any of these systems and you will be in the heart of our near instant pvp experience.

Rules and Regs

RvB has several rules that must be observed by all pilots:

1. No Podding RvB members. Remove pods from your overviews for RvB engagements. If you pod someone you will be given a chance to reimburse them for their loss. If this does not occur, you will be removed from RvB. Pod scouting is not allowed, it provides opportunities for war target pod kills and accidental pod losses. Sometimes pilots get podded. In such cases RvB is not responsible for paying for any lost implants. It is your responsibility to fly what you can afford to lose.

2. PvP against RvB members is viable anywhere in EVE except Jita. Combat against other RvB members is also allowed in all low security and 0.0 security space, however you should treat neutrals on grid as a purple scenario!

3. No ECM mid slot modules can be used at any time against other members of RvB. The only exception to this is when opposing FCs agree to use ECM.

4. Honour arranged fights. These are generally 1v1s, but they could involve more players. They should be held at a planet or moon agreed upon by the participants. If you find other players fighting at a planet or a moon, do not engage any of the ships involved until (1) they have all left the grid, or (2) one of them engages you. Any additional rules for arranged fights are up to the participants and will not be enforced by the RvB leadership. Please respect arranged fleet fights by not crashing/disrupting them.

5) You are not allowed to bring the following into the enemy HQ system: T1 or T2 Battleships, T2 Battlecruisers (aka Commandships), T3 Cruisers & Tier 3 Battlecruisers.

6. Neutral Boosting/Repping/Probers. Use of neutral character for these actions is not allowed. Put your alt characters into your respective Corporation if you wish to engage in these practices.

7. Please try to avoid JITA on your RVB characters.

8. Don’t smack talk or otherwise complain about unfair fights, the other team shipping up / refusing to ship down, blobbing, ganking, camping, sniping, obvious bait, or anything else. The team leaders have a channel to deal with all of those things and you aren’t helping them by spamming corp, RvB, fleet, or local. A director / team leader may request that you stop being a pain in the ass; ignore this request at your own risk. In addition we have a limited access forum section.

9. Due to the repetitive nature of RvB PvP, Fleet Commanders are hard to come by. As a way to encourage players to try their hand at commanding a fleet, do not primary the enemy FC during an arranged fight, until there is no other target in range.

Any pilot is allowed to join with any skill level be it a fresh off the tutorial new player wanting to see what PvP in Eve has to offer or a 125mil SP null-sec vet looking for a change of pace to an industrial pilot looking for something to spend their money on. RvB takes all sorts. Fights range from 1v1s, small gang warfare to pitched fleet battles involving 50+ man purple (red and blue combined against a 3rd party) fleets. So there is something for everyone. Added to that there are tournaments (both solo and small gang) and free-for-alls insuring there's always something different in the pipeline. And the "open door" policy means if you need to drop corp to bolster the bank or any other reason you can come and go as you please.

Main Perks

- Lots of fights! Over 450,000 ships destroyed since September 2009. Both Red Federation and Blue Republic regularly rank in the top 10 corps across EVE.

- Something for everyone: Pilots of all ages, from 2003 to 2013.

- Tournaments, competitions and free-for-alls keep the action fresh, many with the ships even provided - all to keep you creating explosions.

- FCs on both sides trying to get good fights, not hot-dropping in half a dozen guardians as soon as you engage.

- Prizes often donated by senior members for competitions and raffles - ranging from GTCs to faction ships.

- Rules designed to promote fun fights and keep those attribute boosting implants safe.

- Open door policy. Come and go as you please (applications accepted within 24hrs but normally much faster)

- No commitment. You can be involved as much or as little as you like. And no one will demand you turn up for POS seige after seige.

RvB Ganked

Roughly every week, RvB Legend and terrible FC Mangala Solaris runs a null-sec roam which is open to all comers, not just RvB members.

These roams are themed each week around one or more ship types and occasionally guest FCed. Conventionally run on either a saturday or sunday evening (UTC), the fleet is led into which ever part of null-sec the FC desires in search of trouble and comedy in equal measure and generally doesn't return until everyone in the Fleet is dead. In addition to all the madness, spot prizes are regularly handed out courtesy of Somer.Blink.

Details of forth coming RvB Ganked can be found on the RvB Events page or by joining the mailing list cunningly named RvB Ganked.

The Alliance Tournament

The summer of 2011 saw RvB enter two teams into AT IX, one from each corporation. Both teams made it through the selection stage. Unfortunately Blue Republic were drawn against the eventual "runners-up" Outbreak and despite winning their second qualifier were unable to get through. Red Federation fared better making it into the group stages, being involved in three of the closest fights in the group stages but ultimately only winning one.

In 2012 for AT X, RvB entered as Purple, which saw us field a single team consisting of pilots from Red & Blue. This team qualified for the group stages with a win & a loss, however despite getting two wins, did not advance out of the group stage due to points needed to advance. However, the success of Purple just made us thirst for more.

AT XI is in the summer of 2013, and RvB has been successful in gaining a place in this tournament.
