The Empire political blocks can be slice in to three parts. The ...... , vertical slice and the imperial estates. Each block has is own goals. affiliation and tools to influence imperial politics.

On the vertical axis — along provinces and royal heirs of the empire — can the Empire be generally divided into five blocks of opinion, each shaped by one of the Heirs and most prevalent in that House's home regions.[1] On a social axis — the hierarchical axis of the Empire — it could be divided into the imperial estates, with their rights and privileges; which shapes greatly their poliltical goals.

Visitors to the empire should understand that those groups arent mostly made of people which have by choice associating oneself with a political group. It is more the case that the hierarchical feudal system with its alliances and the estates bounds you to a certain block. Within the capsuleer class are those boundaries not the same and a "free" align to a certain group is more likely.
