Taromi Umailen was a Caldari scientist who helped found Crielere.[1] When the Labs were being shut down due to internal corruption and a lack of funding, Umailen, along with his Gallente counterpart Henric Touvolle, first made a plea for unity[2], then refused to abandon the project.[3]
Umailen was kidnapped by the Guristas following a series of raids on the station.[4] After several days, the scientists were sold to Aritcio Kor-Azor.[5] President Foiritan negotiated for his release[6], but a Minmatar slave managed to steal his identity and was released instead.[7]
Umailen died in the sulfur mines of Inis-Ilix I from starvation. He was discovered some time after his death.[8]
