In the Amarr Empire, things are not always peaceful between the Holders of the different planets and solar systems. Political and diplomatic conflicts arise due to envy, greed, honor, or whatever other reasons that can move someone. And, sometimes, those conflicts go beyond the discussion table, and become open wars, which move the whole navies of the correspondent families to engage each other.

The Miyan - Darabi Conflict

At the end of 2006, the Amarr Empire was shattered to know that two noble families were engaged in war. The reason wasn't clear.

According to Lord Darabi, his daughter had been insulted by Lord Miyan, a grave attack to her honor. When they asked for the other Holder to apologize he didn't, so the only way to clean her stain was by war.

Lord Miyan told another story. He said that Lord Darabi sent his beautiful daughter to his court to seduce him and then, make a scandal when he "tried to force her". According to him, it was all a plot by Lord Darabi to expand their family's possessions by war.

Articio Kor-Azor, Lord of both families, remained silent on the issue, and war ensued. It was not long after that both Holders started to look for the support of the different pod-pilots in space. They knew that getting their backing could be a critical point in succeeding in the war. Lord Darabi was much more successful in doing this, mostly because his stance as the insulted party quickly drew the support of pilots... and Lord Miyan's temper didn't help either.

Several pilots were key in this first times, one of such pilots was Lyzra, who backed Lord Darabi since the start. The other most important party was Sepherim (and the Ordo Quaesitoris with him), which tried to play a neutral party and obtain a diplomatic peace between both sides.

The holoreels of the security cameras present at the party were vital to clear out the culpabilities of one of the two sides, and Lord Miyan gave them to Sepherim to take them and analyze them. A small fleet of the other pilots involved in the situation gathered, but they were ambushed by the Minmatarr mercenaries Wolves of Pator. Overtaken quickly, the Wolves took the holoreels into their realm and kept it in the Republic, not accepting any try of buying them out.

Seeing that a proof-based approach had become imposible, Amann Karris and Sepherim convinced both Holders to hold a peace summit in Kor-Azor. Those two pilots were too involved in the situation, so Sepherim proposed Ashar Kor-Azor to act as the intermediary during such a summit. A great number of loyalist parties assisted to it, as did the Holders and their core supporters, but the only thing that came out in the end was a desperate cease-fire, and the decision to make another summit in the near future.

But this cease-fire was broken, and with it the possibility of another meeting. Captain Burr (a pilot in the Miyan navy) opened fire on Darabi ships, and the war raged again. With Ashar Kor-Azor trying to recover desperately the lost holoreels, Sepherim was able to draw a negotiation with the now free-captain Burr. Funded with the money of captain Lyzra and the Ordo Quaesitoris, Catain Burr accepted to hand in the holoreels that proved he had always been in the payroll of Lord Darabi, which had used him to know in advance the battleplans of Lord Miyan and, that way, obtain a quick and decisive victory even though his fleet was smaller. Captain Burr's holoreels were escorted by a small fleet of loyalist pilots into the halls of the Ministry of Internal Order. Some days later, it was confirmed that Burr had betrayed Lord Miyan, but the claims of implication of Lord Darabi and no the lack of honor couldn't be sustained enough.

Ashar Kor-Azor returned in those days to the Empire in possession of the first set of holoreels, and handed them to the Ministry of Internal Order. Proof was soon obtain that indeed Lord Darabi's daughter had seduced and exposed Lord Miyan. Yet, Lord Darabi asked to be able to analyze those holoreels himself, and found out that they had been tampered with (something the Ministry hadn't seen, and was almost impossible to locate). Wether it was Darabi that tampered them or the Ministry that didn't take care of their work well enough it is unsure, but the claims over Lord Darabi were cleaned.

Soon after, the war came to an end when Lord Miyan's fleet was finally destroyed and he had to accept a surrender. He lost some planets as compensation and that was the official end of the conflict. Still, to this day, those two families still cross insults and offenses sometimes, though nothing too serious.
